Ask Father: Divine Mercy Chaplet

Dear Father: I have been saying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy but I would like to understand it more. Can it be offered up for something particular? Please explain.

Dear friend in Christ,

This is an excellent practice. By saying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, you are calling down tremendous graces for yourself and your intentions.

Yes, you may offer the Chaplet for anything you like because it is a direct appeal to the mercy of God, which is unlimited and endless. It is particularly efficacious for the conversion of sinners, for the dying and for seemingly impossible situations.

If you really want to understand the power of the Chaplet, you need to read The Diary of Divine Mercy by Saint Faustina. Here is an excerpt from that book in which our Lord describes the power of this short prayer:

“Through this chaplet you will obtain everything, if what you ask for is compatible with My will.” (Diary, 1731).

Here is a description of what Jesus promises to those who pray the Chaplet: bit.ly/2CwOvgz

And here’s how to pray it: bit.ly/3157CZf. It takes less than 10 minutes! You can also find it on the MyParish App.
